The spring NAB Show is when many manufacturers debut new products and services. If you are going to the NAB ... here are some things to put on your list and look for: Broadcast Electronics showed their update to the AudioVAULT Flex automation system. Also of special interest to stations running IBOC, BE introduced its new Vector Power Enhancement (VPE) technology - which combines a new crest factor reduction scheme and real-time distortion pre-correction - to yield up to seven percent additional transmitter efficiency and another 30 percent output power. BW Broadcast - Booth C3034 - will unveil their new IPCA1 Codec
and the RX1/RBRX1 digital FM receiver
Nautel - Booth C2615 - will have a series of Low Power FM transmitters - The VS Series
Among other features, the VS Series will feature a built-in audio processor. Also, in conjunction with Axia, Nautel will demonstrate a complete IP Audio path from studio to the transmitter. Kintronic Labs - Booth C1332 - will have several items of interest
Comrex - Booth C1920 - will display their new ACCESS Reporter Codec for Android phones. The price point: $0.00 (Free)
Designed to permit direct live connections from the Android phones to the ACCESS or BRIC-Link codecs, the Reporter Codec will enhance the ability of field reporters to connect from virtually anywhere. Henry Engineering - Booth C1246 - will unveil their new Multiport, a multi-format audio interface panel.
The Multiport provides the perfect interface for a stations analog and digital audio inputs and outputs, along with all necessary level, impedance, and topology conversion. APT - Booth C751 - will display their new WorldCast Astral IP Codec. Designed for reliable operation, the WorldCast Astral features include audio backup from a server, dual power supplies, and facility remote control.
AEQ: - Booth C1928 - will release a new compact digital console, the FORUM. The control surface will come with four, eight, or 12 faders.
The TITAN High Speed Digital Audio Router is said to control as many as 5120 x 5120 channels as the system is built out.
For analog operations, The OPERA is designed for simplicity and ease of use.
Addtionally, AEQ will unveil their AM-04 in-rack Audio Monitor and the new MAR4SUITE PRO, a radio and TV audio automation system. Telos: - Booth C146 - plans to show the first VoIP Talk Show System for broadcasters. The Telos VX is a scalable system that will work in facilities of any size.
Telos also plans to show the Zephyr Z/IP ONE, a new one-rack-unit codec. For fixed-position or remote use, it has a wide array of codecs built-in. And using connection to the free Z/IP server service, firewall and NAT problems can be avoided.
